Lloyd Lee Hughey

Lloyd Lee Hughey, 80, of North Little Rock, AR, passed away on July 24, 2026, with his devoted, loving wife of 29 years, Judy, by his side.

Born on August 31, 1945, to Charles and Gussie Hughey, he is preceded in death by his parents; his twelve older siblings, including nine brothers and three sisters.

There are people whose lives are measured not by the years they lived, but by the lives they touched. He was one of those people.

Lloyd was a loyal Razorback fan, an avid fisherman and skilled hunter who found joy in God’s creation. Whether cheering on the Hogs, standing quietly beside a lake, or walking through the woods. He appreciated the beauty, peace, and wonder of the world God created. Those moments reflected something about who he was—a man of patience, perseverance, and gratitude.

After having served his country in the United States Air Force, he later built a successful drywall and painting business, not only through skill and hard work, but through honesty, integrity, and the respect he showed everyone he met. His work left color on walls, but his character left an even greater mark on people’s hearts. His reputation was not built merely on the quality of his craftsmanship, but on the quality of his life.

One of the greatest things that can be said about a person is not how much they accumulated, but how much they gave. He was generous without seeking recognition and humble without seeking praise. He helped others because that was simply who he was. Many have stories of his kindness, his willingness to lend a hand, his quiet encouragement, or his thoughtful generosity. He never needed applause; seeing someone else helped was enough.

His life reminds us that true greatness is found in serving others.

His greatest legacy is not the business he built, the fish he caught, or the trophies he collected (and mounted), but the example of a life lived with humility, generosity, faithfulness, and love. Those qualities will continue to live on in the family he cherished, the friends he encouraged, and the countless people whose lives are better because they knew him.

May we honor his memory not only by remembering him, but by living as he lived—working hard, loving generously, helping quietly, remaining humble, and trusting God faithfully.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Cornerstone Worship Center, 301 Campbell Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas where he was a faithful member and served as a deacon and usher. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
