Lloyd K. Watson, age 82, of Glenwood, died Sunday, February 17, 2013. He was born on June 19, 1930 in Glenwood, the son of Rev. Bill Watson and Ethel Rose Kelly Watson. On December 31, 1951, he was married to Johnnie Thornton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Hubert Watson, Willene Watson and Opal Conner. A United States Navy veteran, he was a retired butcher for Wrights Food Center and member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church. He enjoyed all sorts of hobbies and was a talented woodworker and photographer. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Watson of Glenwood; three children and their spouses, Barbara and Ken Latta of Meansville, Georgia, Mike and Betty Watson of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Tim Watson of Glenwood; four grandchildren, Kenny Latta and his wife, Lisa, John Latta, Scott Watson and Jessica Watson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Joe Floyd Wright, Jerry Lewis, Rodney Woodard, Larry Mitchell, Jim Watson, Johnny Mitchell and Terry Whitley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fish Nest Sunday School Class.
