L.M. Tomlinson, age 92, of Kirby, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023.

He was born on March 12, 1931, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, the son of Paul Edward Tomlinson and Myrtle Annie Williams Tomlinson. He preceded in death by his parents; and his two sons-in-law, Johnny Jenkins and Roy Herman, Jr.

L.M. was Baptist in his faith. On June 21, 1988 he married Glenda Tomlinson. Everyone knew L.M.'s work ethic, he spent many years working as a mechanic at Kirby School until he retired. He could fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking and welding. He spent as much time as he could outdoors. L.M. was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Tomlinson of Kirby; his three children, Susan and Max O'Bryant of Hope, Glenda "Jenkins" and Ted Gaither of Glenwood, Melvin Tomlinson of Bedford, Texas, and Gina Herman of Dike, Texas; his grandchildren, Stacey and Brian Cowart, Becky and Josh Bird, Jessica and Jamie Naramore, and Bradley O'Bryant; his great-grandchildren, Sam, Lottie, Livi, Madeleine, Colton, Emily, Callee, Asher, and Gabe; his special friend, Chris Self; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
