Lois Bryant

Lois Louise Bryant was born on January 28, 1925 to J. Chelsey and Cora B. Bryant in North Little Rock, Arkansas. From birth, her parents instilled in her the love of music. As a young girl, she sang in a gospel group with her parents and sister in churches across Arkansas and could be heard on regional radio programs in the Golden Era of gospel music.
She graduated from NLR High School in 1943 and worked for Timex as a comptometer operator for 32 years until her retirement. But she never slowed down. Her true vocation was sharing her love for Jesus through music. Over the years, she played and sang for many groups, whenever asked, and wherever God led her. While a lifelong member of First Assembly of God Church (NLR) and the Sanctuary Bible Class, she served as the pianist at Little Rock Community Church for over 16 years. A friend described her singing and playing as being "Serenaded by Angels". She also spent countless Friday and Saturday evenings as a part of the Southwest Gospel Singers.
While Louise never married, it should not be said that she led a lonely life. She began each day in God's company, seeking His will and direction, in prayer and Bible reading. She demonstrated a sweet, gentle and kind-spirit, living each day with purpose; a life truly well-lived.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva Bryant Harwell, cousin Donna Carlson and her husband Steve of Little Rock, AR and their children, Jennifer Thomason and Chad Carlson, and their families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Little Rock Community Church, c/o Rev. Johnny Glaze, 61 Coronado Circle, North Little Rock, 72116 or the charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
