Lola Walker Spakes

Lola Walker Spakes, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

She was raised in Amity, Arkansas where she resided at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne K and Mary Ann Walker; her husband, J. W. “Dub” Spakes; her sister, Lou Ann Walker Scott; and her brother, Larry Walker.

She is survived by her children, daughter, Kelly Prince of Glenwood, and son, John Michael Prince (Shauna) of Hot Springs. She is also survived by her step-children, Laura Mack (Dewight) of Kirby, Steve Spakes ( Missy) of Benton and Christy Maynard ( Brad) of Glenwood; her brother, Loyd Walker (Trudy) of Little Rock; and her special lifelong friend, Patsy Burke of Hot Springs; and many friends, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lola was a retired school teacher, and an avid reader and collector of books. She also enjoyed watching DVD’s from the many PBS televisions series’.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Alpine cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
