Lorene McMillan

Lorene was born November 14, 1922 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Sam Williams and Annie Cooper. She married Nathan Connor McMillan on January 21, 1939. Their wedding was the first one performed by Julia Mae McDaniel after she was elected Justice of the Peace for Pulaski County.
Lorene was a homemaker and loved deer hunting with her family. She joined Ironton Baptist Church in 1945 and was a faithful member and worker until she had surgery in 1988 that left her without the use of her legs. Even though she was in a wheelchair, she still managed to take care of her husband and their grandson Chad who had come to live with her and Connor.
She is survived by one son, Kerry McMillan, grandchildren Scotty (DJ) McMillan, Brian (Kim) McMillan, Bret (Gina) McMillan, Dana Moore, Chad (Victoria) McMillan and Blake (Becca) Evans, daughters-in-law, Donna McMillan and Barbara Ball and sister-in-law, Shirley Gentry all of Little Rock. Many other relatives and friends are left to cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Annie Williams, all her siblings, husband Nathan Connor McMillan, sons Sammy McMillan, Danny McMillan and a son that was stillborn.
The family would like to thank Madison Healthcare for their many years of care and service and Arkansas Hospice for the care they provided these last few months. They also wish to extend a very special and heartfelt thanks to Jeanne Pennington who provided such loving care and daily visits for eighteen years.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 5 at Ironton Baptist Cemetery.
