Loretta Adelmann

Lorretta was born on November 3, 1934, in Brundidge, Alabama, to Cecil Greathouse and Emma Lee Medley Greathouse, both of whom preceded her in death. She was one of fourteen children and cherished the strong family bonds she shared throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Adelmann; her grandson, Bobby D Krenek Jr; and her siblings, Marrell Greathouse, Linda Kronmiller, Hillard Gussie Spanogle, Rex Greathouse, B. Ray Greathouse, Edith Louise Mulkey, Ralph Greathouse, Eva Nell Greathouse, Bobby Q. Greathouse, Jeanell Greathouse, Dewey Greathouse, and Huey Greathouse.

Lorretta will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Deborah Ann (Daniel) Selbitschka of Jacksonville, AR and Lisa Marie (Christopher) Cook of Daphne AL her grandchildren (Christine Selbitschka, Michelle (Christopher) Gonzalez, Danielle Coomes, Tiffany (Jodie) Wainright, Sabrina Krenek, Timothy Krenek), ten great grandchildren, brother, Jimmy (Marnie) Greathouse and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives she touched.

Lorretta proudly served her country in the United States Army, including assignments in both the United States and Germany. After her military service, she devoted herself to raising her three children in Lockport, Illinois, and volunteering countless hours to the VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary. Lorretta retired in Fairhope, Alabama, where she enjoyed her favorite soap operas, caring for her home, and spending time with her siblings, younger daughter and grandchildren. Later, she relocated to Arkansas to be near her older daughter and family and cherished the many visits and conversations with her beloved brother, Marrell. Her greatest joy throughout life was the time she spent with all her family.

The family is planning a graveside military honor service on November 6, 2026 in her home town at 9:00am at Hamilton Crossing Cemetery Brundidge Alabama.
