Lorice "Rece" Massey

Lorice “Rece” Massey, age 90, of Pearcy, went home to be with our Savior on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Rece was born on August 19, 1931 in Mountain Pine, the daughter of George and Jewell Walters. She was married to Irvin Massey for 60 years prior to his passing, May 11, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister Bernice Buck; and her brother Herchel Walters.

She was a supportive and devoted Christian wife as she served along beside her husband after he surrendered to the Lord to preach and pastor in Missionary Baptist Churches in Arkansas.

Rece was a loving and caring mother to her daughter, Dian (Glenn) Harkrider and two sons, Don (Kathi) Massey and Darryel (Cyndie) Massey. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Todd (Lynn) Harkrider, Chadd (Morgen) Harkrider, Blake (Kristi) Massey, Bryce (Lisa) Massey, Neeli (Chris) Kinzler and Rychelle Hamblin; 23 great-grandchildren; one foster great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Lois White and Charlotte Moore, her sister-in-law, Ruth Gullett; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services 2:00PM, Friday, November 5, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with her grandsons, Bro. Chadd Harkrider, Bryce Massey, Chris Kinzler and Pastor Kenny Williams officiating.

Interment in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation Friday, 1:00PM-2:00PM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Jimmy White, Mark White, Ricky Cooner, Austin White, Dustin White and David Walters.
