Lorraine Christina Gingras

Lorraine Christina Zimmerman Gingras went to be with Jesus on August 5, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love and a family she cherished deeply.

Lorraine was born May 25, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leonard and Cecilia Zimmerman. She was baptized, confirmed, and attended St. John’s Lutheran Church. She attended Cyprus High School, where she was active in majorette baton twirling.

On July 11, 1951, she married her soulmate, James ‘Big Jim’ Gingras. Their union of 55 years was marked by patience and deep dedication. They were blessed with six children, 19 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. She worked for Dr. Dolowitz and the Granite School District, and volunteered many hours at her church, Christ Lutheran in Murray, Utah.

Lorraine’s greatest gifts to her children were the lessons she lived and shared: to love one another, to cherish family as one of life’s greatest blessings, and above all, to hold firmly to their faith in Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life; she shared in her last days, “all I need is Jesus”. The love she poured into her family and the faith she instilled in them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Jim and Lorraine traveled whenever their health allowed, making every effort to be present for the births, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and many household projects of their children and grandchildren. Their presence at these important family milestones reflected the love and commitment they had for their family.

Lorraine lived in Utah until 2010, when she moved to Colorado. In 2025, she moved to Arkansas, where she lived until her passing. Lorraine is survived by her six children and their families: James Randall (Star) Gingras, Hawaii; Robyn (Ron) Graham, Tennessee; Mark (Karyn) Gingras, Utah; Christi (Jerry) Gilmore, Arkansas; Cheryl (Tim) Cattau, Colorado; and David (Stephanie) Gingras, Arizona. Her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Gigi, Pacific (Ashley), Oceana, Riva; Joshua (Heather), Kyren, Breyer, Geneva; Natalie (Jack), Jackson, James, Graham, Max; Ashley (Danny), Selah; Brooke, Heather, Nick, James; Garrett (Courtney), Gunner, Cadence, Beckett; Jacob (Alex), Blaise, Cutter, Saylor, Rowan; Jaclyn, Brock, Brant; Melissa (Christopher), Joseph; Megan (Paul), Micah, Chloe, Benjamin, Naomi; Daniel (Elizabeth),Maddy, Emily, Elijah; Elyse (Chad), Lucas; Jantzen (Asia), Jaxon, Luna; Jasmine (Eric), Ruth, Benjamin, Jude, and Jade. Sisters, Judy Eckman and Julia Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Big Jim; her parents, Leonard and Cecilia Zimmerman; her sisters, Marion Navath and Catherine Priskorn; and her brother, John Zimmerman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 9, 2026, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado  80214. The interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. on October 12, 2026, at Redwood Memorial Estates in West Jordan, Utah.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that Lorraine is now safely home in Jesus’ arms.
