Lorretta Gordon

Loretta June Gordon, 86, Sherwood, Arkansas passed away March 14, 2023. She was born June 22, 1936, in Adkins, Arkansas to the late John and Eunice (Crawford) Parks.

She was a hair stylist for over 20 years in Morrilton and North Little Rock. She owned Loretta’s Hair Styling Salon. She retired at the age of 60 and went to college and became a CNA and worked for several years at UAMS before going to work as an activity director at a nursing home. At one time she and her husband, Gerald, ran a campground in Heber Springs. In 2017, Loretta wrote a book called “Remember When.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 51 years, Gerald “Butch” Wayne Gordon; and brother, John Parks and great-grandson, Michah.

Loretta is survived by her daughters, Pamela Jones and Rhonda Nestor (Charles); grandchildren, Angela Boast (Bradley), Tina Armstrong (Gerad), Stephen Christensen (Caitlin), Alyssa Koen (Michael Aaron); greatgrandchildren, Lily, Marisa and Case; and siblings, Annette Crowder (Charlie), Jannette Williams (Harold), James David Parks (Doris), Billy Parks (Donna), and Mary Parks along with a host of family and friends. She is also survived by her close friend and companion, Clifford Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107). Funeral will be at 12:30PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at Sherwood First Baptist Church with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton.
