Lottie Mae Markham

 

Lottie Mae Markham, age 84, of Amity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent’s Hospital in Hot Springs.

 

She was born on March 28, 1939, in Amity, the daughter of Marvin “Bear” Doster and Rachel Spears Doster. On December 7, 1957, Lottie married the true love of her life, James “J.D.” Markham, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2004.  Lottie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Jean Markham; her parents; and four brothers, Pat Jackson, Leon Doster, Leonard Doster, and CL “Butch” Doster.

 

Together Lottie and J.D. built a life together and were blessed with three children, Rhonda, Angela, and Casey.  Lottie was a retired hairdresser and she always enjoyed operating her hair salon, where she loved visiting with all of her clients.  She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Lottie will forever be remembered as one of the kindest people you could ever meet and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Lottie is survived by her son, Casey Markham of Amity; her daughter, Angela Bodiford Couger and her husband, Daniel, of Hot Springs; two grandchildren and their spouses, Toby and Autumn Markham and Alicia and Michael Rimmer; five great-grandsons, Kole Markham, Jaxon Guin, Ryan Hughes, Diceyn Brown and James Markham; two great-granddaughters, Marhia Markham and Novaleigh Rimmer; one great-great-granddaughter, Everly Chapman; one brother, Jimmy Doster of Amity; two sisters, Patsy Bass of Glenwood and Reba Floyd of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 20, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Eric Wehunt officiating.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.

 

Interment will be in the Coker Cemetery, Rosboro.

 

Pallbearers will be Michael Rimmer, Toby Markham, Casey Markham, Ricky Brewer, Rodney McCormick and Stevie Kirkpatrick.
