Lou Giaimo

Lou Giaimo, 85, of Bryant, was surrounded by her family when she was promoted into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born February 11, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Clarence and Luvurn Lands.

She was preceded by her loving husband of 64 years, Johnny; her parents; her grandson, Kevin Powell; her brothers, Jerry, Sammy, and David Lands; and her sisters Dorothy Grundy and Jo Wise.

Lou is survived by her daughters, Sally (Tony) Adami of Benton and Chrissy (Steve) Wright of Benton; grandchildren: Brandon Adami (Jessica Roycraft), Linda Post (Justin Janney, Brittney (Jonathan) Pounders, Danny (Brittany) Powell, and Cami (Jarrod) Beers; great grandchildren: Hayden, Avery, and Lily Pounders, Josie Mae Post, Nora Kate and Brooks Powell, Nathan and Nicholas Beers, and soon-to-arrive Nolan Grey Adami. She also leaves behind sisters: Billie (Ronnie) Castera and Susie (Charles) Nichols.

Lou’s greatest joy and happiness was gathering and feeding her family. She loved making everyone’s favorite meal for their birthdays, and her fried chicken was second to none. She loved sewing, working outdoors, gardening, and yes…she loved the slot machines at Oaklawn.

“Nanie” was by far the greatest title she held and loved spoiling her grandbabies and great grandbabies.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015. A private interment will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Angie, Kristi, Stephanie, and the staff at Pleasant Hills Care Home for the care and compassion they provided. Your support meant so much and will always be remembered.

Lou leaves behind a legacy of love that will be passed down through generation.
