Louis Anderson of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on June 22, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois, to Jesse and Carol Anderson, both of whom preceded him in death.
Lou was married to the love of his life, Darlene Anderson, for 58 years. They married young, at ages 18 and 16, and remained devoted to one another for a lifetime. Their marriage was a remarkable example of enduring love, partnership, and faith.
Lou was known for his boisterous spirit and his unmistakable, booming bass voice. His greatest joy outside of his family was singing at church. He spent many years leading worship or anchoring the bass line from the pews, his voice a steady presence in the congregation. He served as an elder at Sandstone Church of Christ for over a decade.
A dedicated restaurateur, Louis worked with Jerry’s and McDonald's, later owning his own restaurant, The Back Door. He also worked in educational food service at Harding University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents; his children David Anderson and Denise Repaal-Gowin; his siblings Mary Ellen Caswell, Sherry Brock, Mike Anderson, and Jewel Ann Anderson who died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Anderson; his son, Duane Anderson (Melissa); his sister Sally Findley; grandchildren Christina Massery (Cody), Valerie Anderson (William), Cassandra Gowin, Vanessa Anderson, and Vincent Anderson; and great-grandchildren Adalyn Mae Rowe, Marte Lu Massery, and Colton Lee Rowe.
Lou will be remembered for his deep generosity and unwavering faith. He never forgot the helping hands that lifted him up in his youth, and he spent his life returning that kindness wherever he could—oƯering help, support, and compassion without hesitation.
He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and a voice that will echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
