Louise Kirkpatrick

Mattie “Louise” Kirkpatrick, born in Little Rock, on September 26, 1934, left this world on December 4, 2024. She was the daughter of Loyd and Mattie Goodson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Monroe A. “Dude” Kirkpatrick; parents; her brother, Johnny Goodson and grandchild, Brandt Crook.

She is survived by three children, Sharon, David, and Jimmy Kirkpatrick; two grandchildren, Billy Crook and Jae Kirkpatrick; five great-grandchildren, Billy Crook, Jr., Kaylan Crook, Ashlyn Crook, Valerie Kirkpatrick, Michael Kirkpatrick-Thuston; three great-great-grandchildren, Hunter McCall, Wrenlee Hunter, and T.J. Connell; sister, Addie Miller Goodson; brother, Loyd Goodson of Michigan; and brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Ann Kirkpatrick. 

Our mother was the hardest working person I have ever known. For as long as I can remember she kept a spotlessly clean home, worked a full time job after my baby brother Jimmy started school and faithfully thought we needed three meals a day. Even if it was a bologna sandwich! And to this day I still love them! She retired from Philips Lighting, formerly Westinghouse, in her early 60's due to health issues, but she had a full time job at home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she loved us all tremendously. She will be missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2024, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Spring Valley Cemetery on Kanis Road in Ferndale, AR.
