Louise Redman Elson Treece, 94, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 with her daughter by her side. Louise was born in Marshall, Arkansas on February 3, 1919 to Roy and Ethel Redman. In 1936, she graduated from Marshall High School as the class Salutatorian and went to John Brown University that same year. She later graduated from business college in Oklahoma City.
Returning to Arkansas, she married a young Army lieutenant from Michigan, Don Elson. They had one daughter, Susan. In 1982, she retired from St. Vincent's Hospital where she worked in the business office. Louise remarried Lt. Col. (Ret.) Hugh Treece, her high school sweetheart in 1989. They enjoyed traveling and being with family until his death in 2005. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Tele-Bible Sunday School Class.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Muriel Samuels, niece, Stephanie Thomas, and both her husbands, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Ogburn (Leonard); grandson, John Martensen (Heather); three great-grandchildren, many nieces, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery in Marshall.
