Loy E. Turner, age 81, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

He was born in Kirby on March 14, 1944. Loy was the son of Thomas Veston Turner and Ruthie Mae Dwyer Turner. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harold Thomas Turner; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Turner.

Loy lived life in the fast lane. He loved racing cars and riding horses. He was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan and believed Chevrolet was the only way to go. He owned Turner Tire and drove log trucks. He always took care of his own. Most of all, he loved his family. Loy was a loving dad, granddad, uncle, and friend, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his awesome two sons, Clint (Tina) Turner of Amity and Brent (Angie) Turner of all of Kirby; his special daughter, Makayla Turner of Kirby; his high school sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Brenda; his three grandchildren, Tyanna Collins, Blake Turner, and Ashton Turner; his two great-grandchildren, Kaiven Barrett and Gunner Collins; his dear friend, Bennie Holder; his best friend since first grade, Burl Adams; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dierks Health and Rehab for their wonderful care.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with his grandson, Blake Turner and his nephew, Jeff Turner officiating.
