Loyd Otho Henson Jr., was born March 7th, 1952 of Verda Lou & Loyd Otho Henson, Sr. Loyd left this earth August 29th, 2025. He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and brother Gary. Loyd is survived by wife of 48 years Barbara, sister Sharon Hacker, brother in law Bobby, sister in law Shelley Edens, sons Brook Schmidt, Noah, and Zachariah, daughters in law Jamie Schmidt, Yukari Henson, and Lacey Kelley, five grandchildren Ryan, Kristen, Hunter, Aiden, and Brycen. Loyd adored his wife Barbara and they shared a long, loving relationship. Loyd enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, and taking family weekend drives. Loyd was a Master Carpenter & a Building Engineer, who enjoyed working in his wood shop. He was a licensed minister who was known for sharing God’s love with others. Loyd and Barbara were National Directors of New Beginnings Motorcycle Ministry. He was a gifted trumpet player, starting in Junior High, elected to the All Senior Honor band, and enjoyed sharing his gift with others through his entire life. He was recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award, which recognizes superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty and cooperation. Loyd produced a CD, “Call to Worship”, which provided healing for many. He played taps for numerous veteran services, since his youth.
Loyd was loved dearly by many friends, family members, and neighbors. He was a kind, strong man who enjoyed helping others.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 am at
