Lt. Col. Frank A. Pitts, 81, of Conway, went to be with his heavenly Father on Feb. 15, 2013. He was born on Feb. 25, 1931, to the late Robert and Maude Pitts in North Little Rock, AR.

On May 22, 1953, he married the love of his life, Frances McCullough, in North Little Rock, AR, where they raised three children.

Mr. Pitts faithfully served at several churches, where he was a deacon and church treasurer. He was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway, AR. He was a retired officer with the rank of Lt. Col. in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Mr. Pitts retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department in 1989, after 30 years of service. He was the owner of Pitts Tax Service.

He was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and a treasurer of Little Rock Chapter 1577. He also volunteered his time with the Baptist Health Medical Center Auxiliary North Little Rock and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

The loving husband and father is survived by his wife, Frances; his son, Robert M. (Mike) Pitts and wife Dianne of Berryville, AR; two daughters, Pamela Allen and husband Dennis of Conway, AR, and Patty Pitts of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, Rob Pitts and wife Jacque of Kimberling City, MO, and Leslie Paladino and husband Michael of Bentonville, AR; two great-grandchildren, Gabby and Peter Paladino; a sister, Carolyn Wright of North Little Rock, AR; and nephew and many nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill Phelps, and one sister, Bertie Mae Parsons.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, before burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR.
