Lucille Sweeden

Lucille Funkhouser Sweeden, 94, of Little Rock passed on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Mansfield, TX with her family by her side.  She was born December 9, 1925 in Belleville, AR to Ben and Jessie (Bailey) Mosely. She retired after a 30+ year career as an executive secretary at Worthen Bank. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Sweeden is survived by her son, Philip L. Funkhouser and his wife, Donna, of Mansfield, TX; one granddaughter, Hallie Elizabeth Funkhouser and two great grandchildren Ileigh Marie Kelly and Lincoln Lee Kelly, all of Burleson, TX; one sister, Linda Patterson of Conway, AR.  In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Virgil Eugene Funkhouser, four brothers, Boyce, Ray (Dooley), Raymond and Hartsell Mosely; three sisters Faye King, Loyce Crutchfield and Irene Wesley.

The graveside service will be Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Little Rock National Cemetery, beginning at 11:00 AM.  Current cemetery requirements will require facemasks and social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN at www.stjude.org
