Lula Grace Whorton, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 7, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 29 in Warren, Arkansas, Lula Grace Whorton lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to those she held dear. She grew up in Eudora, Arkansas, and spent many more years in Benton, Arkansas. Grace carried her warmth and compassion into every stage of her life.
Grace will be remembered for her spunky spirit, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor. With a sparkle in her eye and a flair for the dramatic, she had a way of turning ordinary moments into something memorable. Her sarcasm could make anyone laugh, and her silly, happy nature brought joy to everyone around her. She lived life with energy, laughter, and heart. She is a true light who will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A woman of faith, Grace rejoiced in the Lord and was a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Grace’s greatest joys came from the simple and beautiful things in life: gardening, cooking, crafting, exploring antique stores, and traveling the world with her beloved husband. She shared her generous heart and gracious spirit with everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Grace is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Larry; her children, Callie Tobias (Jose) and Casey Whorton; and her sister, Ruth Tully, and her beloved grandchildren, Bryan McCoy (Alicia), Kelsey Treece (Cole), Skylind Whorton, and Krish Alive. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Cruz and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bessie Atkins; her bonus daughter, Candice Whorton; her brother-in-law, Porter Tully; her great niece, Shelby Tully, and a great-grandchild.
A visitation service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 9, 2025, at Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 2382 Reyburn Creek Rd., Malvern, AR 72104, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.
Flowers are graciously accepted. Arrangements may be sent to the Whorton Family Residence at 3810 Madison Place, Benton, AR 72019.
