Mack Glenn Pharr, 92, of North Little Rock, passed away July 26, 2012. He was born on February 16, 1920, in Rule, Texas, to the late Robert and Zola Pharr. Mr. Pharr retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1981 and proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He attended Southern Bible Vocational College in Rising Star, Texas. He was an active member of the First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He lived in North Little Rock, Arkansas for over 50 years and will be remembered as a man that was always willing to help others. Many people in the community referred to him as "The Peanut Man". Mr. Pharr enjoyed gospel singing and his strong bass voice could be heard many times at the Hayes Center Gospel Hour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of sixty years, Imogene; three sisters and two brothers; and one son, Mark Evans Pharr.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Dennis G. Pharr (Ann) of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Diane Harden (Hal), of Little Rock, and Anna Kay Tilton (Jack), of Texas; grandsons, Mark Pharr (Debbie), of North Little Rock, Mack Pharr (Melinda), of Conway, Brian Choate (Andria), of Nevada; granddaughters, Mischelle (Don) Berrier, of Illinois, Sarah Blakley (Jeremiah), of North Little Rock, Hannah Freeman (Matt), of Guy, Sharon (Scott) Soares, of Missouri; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Mary Curtis, of Texas, and Joyce Luebbe (Lloyd), of Nebraska; many nieces and nephews; and devoted friend and caregiver, Cindy Boshears.
Many special thanks to his neighbors, church family, caregivers, and the hospital staff who watched over him.
