Madge Buck Nichols

Madge Buck Nichols, formerly of Lamesa, TX, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Andrews, TX. She was born in Clark County, AR, to the late Edward W. and Doshia Woodall Buck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luke Nichols, Jr.; her brothers Laymon Buck and Ydell Buck; her sister Wanda Buck; her stepmother Pearl Childress Buck; her brother-in-law Truman Lollar and sister-in-law Margaret Nichols Lollar; and her brother-in-law Joel Coon.

Survivors include her son Sam Nichols (Kristy) of Andrews, TX; granddaughter Lindsay Richards (Sam); great-grandson Max Richards and great-granddaughter Harper Richards of Fayetteville, AR; sister Donna Buck Coon Burrow (Chuck); sister-in-law Mildred buck Glover; sister-in-law Billie Jo Buck; nieces and nephews; many cousins; and numerous friends.

Prior to owning her own business, Nichols Drapery, for 35 years, Madge worked for JCPenney Co., where she met Luke. The local newspaper’s publication of their wedding announcement read, “Buck Marries Nichols, Works for Penney’s.” To know Madge was to love her, with her outgoing personality, great sense of humor and unforgettable laugh. In addition to her classic sense of style, in navy or black, with pearls, always looking over her half-glasses. She would help anyone, anytime, in any way.
