Peggy Marie Stramel Craig, age 67, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy courageously battled brain cancer over the past year with strength, grace, and an unwavering spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christa Diane Stramel, and the love of her life, Bruce Edward Fisher.
Peggy is survived by her devoted parents, Jim and Jean Neal; her siblings, Steve Neal, Joan Straessle (Jerry), and Jimmy Neal (Peggy); her daughters, Adriane Stramel (Mark) and Lindsey Williamson (Robb); her cherished granddaughters, Keeley and Colby; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel and Casen.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Peggy moved to Arkansas during her teenage years. From a young age, she embraced life on her own terms—bold, unapologetic, and fiercely independent. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being the best mother, wife, friend, and mentor she could be. With a strong and loving spirit, Peggy led by example, teaching those around her the importance of confidence, self-reliance, and practical wisdom—often with a healthy dose of her signature “I know what you should be doing and how you should be doing it”.
Peggy had a passion for nurturing others. Even while raising her own three children, she cared for neighborhood children, church kids, and foster babies, always eager to share life skills and life lessons. If you helped with a chore, there was usually a Pop-Ice waiting for you as a reward.
She was a loving mother, a proud “GG,” a devoted daughter, and a loyal friend. Peggy believed in building bridges between people, but if those bridges didn’t hold, she kept walking her own path. She was selective with her friendships, valuing authenticity above all, and continued forming deep, meaningful connections throughout her life.
True to her Girl Scout spirit, Peggy was always prepared for any project, plan, or problem. She kept tools at the ready and had a habit of collecting things she found useful and beautiful: bandanas, gargoyles, elephants, hats, rocks, crystals, blankets, jars, magnets, matchbooks, baskets, essential oils, and more. Each item held a story or a purpose, just like Peggy herself.
With a radiant smile, infectious laugh, and head full of curls, Peggy was a bright light to all who knew her. Her creativity, generosity, and fire-filled heart will continue to inspire those who loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held for Peggy at Next Level Events, 1400 W Markham St, Little Rock, AR, on Saturday, July 12th, from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to Arkansas Hospice or the charity of your choice.
