Margaret Bryan Proctor, 66, of Little Rock, passed away August 5, 2012. She was born in Scottsdale, Arizona but located with her family to Fort Smith at a very early age. Margaret graduated from Fort Smith High School and attended George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. For several years, she was a stewardess for American Airlines based out of New York City and Nashville. During the last 25 years, Margaret worked for Our Lady of the Holy Souls School in various capacities, most recently as a third grade teacher's aide, a job that she truly loved.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Florene Bryan of Fort Smith. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim Proctor; son, Russ (Heather) Proctor of Bryant; daughter, Kerri (Jordan) May of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren, Greyson Girdler of Bryant and Maggie May of El Paso. She also leaves behind four sisters, Shirley Shumate of Nashville, Tennessee, Judy Titsworth of Fort Smith, Candi Russell of Little Rock and Becky (Chuck) Jeffers of Alma, along with six nieces and six nephews.
Some of the greatest times of her life were spent sunning on the beaches of Destin, decorating the home for the holidays, and attending the live horse racing season at Oaklawn. Her most prized possessions were her family and many friends and her work with the students at Holy Souls School.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 9 from 6:00 p.m. until the start of the Rosary at 7:00 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the church, celebrated by Father Erik T. Pohlmeier, followed by interment at Holy Souls' Columbarium.
