Margie Anne Snider

Margie Anne Snider, 74, of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Margie, or Marjan to her immediate family, was born December 29, 1947 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Joseph Tillman Gant, Jr. and Margaret Rafferty Gant and was raised in Jackson, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her father and her mother-in-law, Lillie Harris Snider.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ray Snider of Sherwood, Arkansas; daughter, Donna Young (Eddie); son, Mike Snider; grandchildren, Mikki and Eli Young all of Sherwood, Arkansas; her mother, Margaret Gant of Jackson, Tennessee; siblings, Susan Gant Way of Jackson, Tennessee, Vicki Gant Williams of Spring Creek, Tennessee, Harriet Gant of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Bill Gant of Jackson, Tennessee, David Gant of Long Beach, Mississippi, Charlie Gant (Rachel) of Pass Christian, Mississippi; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

Margie touched many lives over her 43 years as a high school science teacher, most of those years teaching 9^th grade Physical Science and Chemistry at North Little Rock High School. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and learn new things and enjoyed crafting and scrapbooking with her friends. Such a talented woman, she could do anything from sewing dresses to decorating cakes and made the best banana pudding in the world. She was always a champion for the underdog, had a soft spot in her heart for children, and was so proud of her family, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nonni.

Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2022 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
