Margie Wilson

Margie S. Wilson, 91, lifelong resident of North Little Rock passed away on April 1, 2011. She was born to James Grady and Elva Skinner in Faulkner County on July 29, 1919. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Reba Wetzler and Dorothy Harington, and a twin brother, James B. Skinner.

She is survived by three children, James A. Wilson (Joan) of Cabot, Betty A. Jones (Bud) of North Little Rock, and W.R. Wilson (Janey) of Texarkana, Arkansas; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She retired in 1984 after thirty years in banking in Little Rock. She was active in Women's Chamber of Commerce of Greater Little Rock, service as secretary, treasurer, and then elected president in 1976. She stayed active during her retirement years with her family and friends at North Heights Recreation Center. Her church activities were especially meaningful to her during this time.

She was a charter member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church and 47th Street Baptist Church, both of North Little Rock. In the latter, she was Secretary-Treasurer of the Sunday School for 47 years, and taught Sunday School for many years.

Mrs. Wilson was a Godly woman who always had a helping hand for any and all. She was a modest woman that stood apart by her love for her church, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Edgewood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170.
