Marie Garner
Marie Garner, age 89 of Little Rock, passed away June 11, 2016 at her home. She was born November 6, 1926 in Holly Grove , Arkansas; and she was the daughter of Clarence E. Wilkinson and Ethel Wilkinson.
Mrs. Garner was a retired Executive Secretary for Memphis Light Gas and Water Company; she was also a founding member of Brookwood Baptist Church in Little Rock, where she served many years as church secretary and a Sunday school teacher. Marie will be remembered for always being a faithful Christian woman, who was also a member of the Church at Rock Creek.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Earl Byrone Garner; brothers Carlton Wilkinson and James Wilkinson; sisters Clarice Romine and Mildred Carlisle.
Survivors include her children Lynn (Martha) Fagan, Jim Garner, Robert (Rosemary) Garner, Shelby Buie (Randy Jones); nine grandchildren; Cindy Jones, Bradley Fagan, Tiffanie Threet, Haley Dumas, Lance Garner, Lane Garner, Laurie Levermann, Dena Rhoads, and Amanda Rosette; twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock, with a graveside service following at 2:30 p.m. at Garner Cemetery in Kingsland, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garner Cemetery at 2838 North Hwy 167, Fordyce, Arkansas 71742 or Macedonia Cemetery at 51 Kirkpatrick Lane
