Marilyn B. Warner

Marilyn Bernice (Duncan) Warner went to be with her Savior on February 24, 2024.  She was 86 years old.  Born June 18, 1937, Mrs. Warner was a Little Rock native and a 1955 graduate of Little Rock High School.

Marilyn married James Warner, Jr., on September 15, 1956.  She attended St. Vincent’s School of Practical Nursing and worked for more than 25 years as a licensed practical nurse at Baptist Hospital.   Marilyn was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a marvelous cook who loved preparing meals for family gatherings and loved experimenting with recipes.  She is famous for her award-winning chili.  She always remembered special occasions by sending cards to loved ones.   After retirement, she and James moved to Greers Ferry Lake.  They spent many years traveling and enjoying life on the lake with family and friends.   She was a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents:  James William Duncan and Ruth Georgianne (Trimble) Duncan; sisters: Lorene Bailey, Imogene Haynie, Maydine Henson, Carolyn Sanders; and brother: Doyle Duncan, Sr.

She is survived by three children:  Carla Rutherford (Tommy) of North Little Rock; Susan Brewer (Jim) of Bentonville; and Jay Warner (Kelly) of Bigelow; five grandchildren: Jacqueline Brown (Todd) of Little Rock; Robert Warner of West Palm Beach, Florida; Doug Brewer (Brittany) of Rogers; Lauren Brewer (Maxwell Sawyer) of Bella Vista; Chris Rutherford (Rebecca) of Sherwood; and great grandchildren:  Hayden, Taylor and Riley Brown; Josephine, Genevieve, and Rhys Brewer; Cayden and Mabry Rutherford; and one great-great grandchild: Samuel Brown.
