Marion Thomas Green, 84, of North Little Rock passed away January 5, 2026. He was born in Arkansas City, AR on November 24, 1941 to the late Mildred and Caple Green. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Green; and brothers-in-Christ, Neil Woomer, and James Allen Proctor.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked until his retirement as a Master Electrician for Remington Arms. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, and at the top of his list was fishing with Neil Woomer. He enjoyed traveling the state and exploring, camping, swimming, with his family from Richland Creek to the Cossatot River; and hiked through the Ozarks with his faithful dogs, Sam and Ellie, his daughter, Jan, and her mom, Mary Vancura. One of his safe spaces was at the lake house, that his father-in-law, Paul Vancura built with friends and family on Lake Hamilton. Marion cherished his time with them as if they were his own.
The impact of the Vancura family led Marion back to faith. He reconnected with God at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and was baptized with his infant daughter by Dr. James Argue. He was a true servant both at home and at church, often visiting the sick or lending a helping-hand to a stranger. He was a consistent figure in the Genesis Sunday School Class. He participated in a mission endeavor assisting in construction for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Helping others brought him great joy.
Celebrations, parties, dancing, making others laugh--all of these things will be missed by those who loved him. Including: his daughter and son-in-law: Jan and Chris Harrison; Jan's mother and sister, Mary Vancura and Martha Lauster; two grandchildren: Lily Grace Harrison and Ella Reece Harrison; and siblings: Terry Green and Iris Green. He is also survived by a niece, Melissa Green Heath, special friends, Cheryl Weldon and Carnell Proctor; and many others.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral at 10:30 AM, Monday January 12, 2026 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:00 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
