Mark Fowler Hampton, of Bryant, left this Earth to be with his Savior on December 17, 2025. He was born on August 16,1959 to Demo Lee and Bill Hampton in Clinton. He attended Benton High School where he served as student council president and was an all-state football player. He continued his education at The University of Central Arkansas where he was a proud member of the Sigma chapter of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and honored by selection into its national leadership Hall of Fame upon his graduation. Mark was a successful trial attorney and respected community mentor. He took on the first federal capital murder case since Reconstruction in Arkansas.
Mark was a man of eclectic taste and countless curiosities. For instance, he became a lifelong hot rod enthusiast while working alongside his father, who customized vans and classic roadsters. He was also serious about weightlifting -a hobby turned passion that would eventually lead him to compete in several bodybuilding competitions including Mr. Arkansas. He was a history buff, cinephile, and a rock nā roll aficionado. He could often be heard rattling off factoids ranging from the American Civil War to ZZ Top.
Mark, a lifelong follower of Christ, faithfully attended The Church at Rock Creek for 30 years. Most of all, his greatest love was the role of father to his children. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Lauren Joyner (Jonathan), Courtney Hampton, and John Hampton, his Aunt Mae McDaniel (Donald), Aunt Wordna Freeman and a host of cousins, beloved kinfolk and cherished friends. Preceding him in death are his uncle Fowler, his brother Brian, his aunts, Rena Dee and Dorothy, and his parents. A celebration of life will be held February 12, 2026 at 11 AM, at The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock.
