Mark James Niehaus, of Little Rock, AR, born in Dayton, Ohio on July 14, 1958, passed away at home with his loved ones on November 27, 2025. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, colleague, neighbor and friend.

Mark is predeceased by his parents James and Joyce Niehaus. He is survived by his wife Martha (Leary), beloved father to his four children, Abigail (Christian) Olberts of Little Rock, Colby, J.P. (Hunter) of Colorado and Kyle (Andrea) of Indiana. Devoted and loving grandfather of Zoe and Mae Olberts and Alice Niehaus. Survived by his sisters, Julie Niehaus, Jennifer McCulloch and Wendy Van Kirk (Burton); as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Mark met Martha (Mo) through his high school friend and brother-in-law John Coffey (Christine). Through forty years of marriage and his career in aviation, Mark and Mo have lived in California, Connecticut, Indiana, Texas, Colorado and then retired to Arkansas. Although the location of their home changed, their love for each other and their children remained a constant.

Mark attended Parks College of St. Louis University (BS) and Farfield University (MFA).

Mark was strong in his Catholic faith, serving as lector and on Parish boards while also volunteering in numerous capacities to serve his communities.

Working on cars, building model airplanes, and golfing were some of Mark’s favorite hobbies. He loved working on his many Mercedes, keeping the ‘Green Machine’ until it became vintage and now his son Kyle is keeping it going. Most of all Mark loved spending time with his family, children and granddaughters.

Having lived in Chicago part of his youth Mark became a big Cubs, Bears, and then a Notre Dame football fan.

Mark was a kind, faithful, devoted, hardworking, honest and compassionate person.

Donations may be made in memory of Mark J. Niehaus to Saint Theresa’s Catholic School, 6311 Baseline Rd. Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Court). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church (6311 Baseline Road) with interment following at Calvary Cemetery.  A reception will be held at St. Theresa's Parish Center at noon.
