Martha Autry

Martha Earlene Autry, 90 of Sherwood, passed away, Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  She will be loved and missed by her entire family and friends.

She has been in the wonderful care of Good Shephard Nursing Home for the last four years.  Our family appreciates the splendid atmosphere and attentive care and encouragement our Mom received at Good Shephard.  Many thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, CNA’s and all other staff there.

Mom was born August 18, 1930 to Milton Earl Cook and Vona Ruth (Brockinton) Cook in North Little Rock, Ark. Mom graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1948.

Martha was an avid bowler and bowling secretary for 50 years.  Most of those years were at Pike Bowling Lanes and Sherwood Bowling Center.

She worked as bookkeeper for 40 years for Davis Rubber Company in Little Rock, Ark.  Besides keeping their books, Mom was always made to feel a part of things – almost part of the family of Mr.& Mrs. Herschel Davis and their five sons:  Stephen, Cole, Dan, Phillip and Roger.

Mom had a full, happy and good life.  Besides bowling, she enjoyed fishing and camping.  She made a mean pot of homemade soup and chili.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ruth Cook; her sister Mary Ruth (Cook) Bidwell; her brother Jimmy Cook and her husband Benjamin Roy Autry.

Martha is survived by her daughter Wanda Pence Reid (husband Randy).

She was “Nannie” to three grandchildren:

Christopher Moore (wife Jennifer); Jonathan Moore and Melissa Moore Nease (husband Cory).

She was also “Nannie” to ten great grandchildren:

Aydin Moore, Alexis Moore, Grace Moore, Gavin Moore, Jaci Moore, Ainsleagh Moore, Lilleanna Moore, Hudson Moore, Hunter Nease and Cody Nease .

Martha is being taken care of by Smith -North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Viewing from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 18th.  Burial will be private.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
