Listen to Obituary

Martha Lynn Denton, 83, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born April 15, 1943, in Russellville, Alabama, to William Younger Denton and Erran Lucille Robison.

People close to Martha knew her by her nickname, "Mot". Martha lived a life marked by independence, quiet strength, and remarkable resilience. Though she faced deeply personal hardships that shaped the course of her life, she refused to allow those experiences to define her. She continued forward with courage and determination, proudly serving her country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later in the Army National Guard. Martha did not seek attention or recognition; instead, her strength could be found in the quiet way she carried herself and persevered throughout her life.

Martha enjoyed gardening and cross-stitching and had a special love for Disney, Norman Rockwell, and the Precious Moments collections. While she may not have considered herself much of a cook, she continued to try and had every kitchen gadget available. Plagued with Alzheimer's in her later years, Martha enjoyed puzzles, sudoku, and word searches. Those who loved her knew there was far more to Martha than what could ever be captured in a list of hobbies or accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, William "Bill" Denton; and her sisters, Ann Winslow, Marilyn Royce, and Gay Donahue.

Martha leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember her strength, perseverance, and the unique life she lived.

Martha's life was uniquely her own. Through life's challenges, she remained strong, continued moving forward, and created a life filled with the things that brought her comfort and joy. Her resilience and quiet courage will remain part of the legacy she leaves behind.
