Martha Laverne Dunn, age 88 of Waldorf, Maryland (formerly of North Little Rock, Arkansas), passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare in Waldorf. She was born on March 30, 1925 in Water Valley, Mississippi; and she was the daughter of John Prescott and Senie Samantha Van Winkle-Prescott.
Martha retired from Baptist Health Medical Center in Memphis, after serving as a Service Department Manager, she was a hard worker who was very shy, she was a faithfully religious member of the Baptist faith, and held a membership at Pike Avenue Baptist Church while in North Little Rock.
She is preceded in death by husband Hugh Wallace Dunn, her parents, twelve brothers and sisters and a grandson Wesley James Harmuth.
Survivors include her two children John W. Dunn of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Brenda Harmuth and husband Christopher of Waldorf, Maryland; grandchildren Christina Harmuth-Davis, Jennifer Dunn and Jessica Dunn; great-grandchildren Hailey Dunn, Hayden Dunn, Chelsea Courter, Mikayla Harmuth and Breanna Davis; and nieces Jeanie Carr, Jimmie Kay Sanders, Linda Temple and Debbie Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Huson Funeral Home at 6400 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. at Little Rock National Cemetery.
