Martha Figueroa

In Loving Memory -  Martha Higdon – 7/6/1938 – 8/18/2021

“Death is just a short trip home. I find peace knowing I am related to God, and this is the only path.”

On Tuesday August 18th 2021, at the age of 83, Marti Figueroa of Hot Springs was lost to the world. She claimed her ultimate victory by entering God’s presence forever. Marti was the daughter of Otis and Juanita Higdon, and second eldest sister of nine siblings. She was the loving Mother of Cyndy Giersch of Mission Viejo CA, and Michael Figueroa of Jacksonville AR, and proud Grandmother to 10 Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Marti’s message – I am leaving you with a gift of peace of mind, and heart. Don’t be troubled or afraid. May you also discover new strength from God during these days. Old age isn’t easy, but God is faithful, and he hasn’t abandoned you. Turn to Christ every day for the strength you need, for he has promised “surely I am with you always to the very end of age.”

I also want to leave you with a message – never judge people – always let God be the judge of all things -  and if they  are wrong, pray the Holy Spirit will convict them. Our job is to LOVE. Also we will never know why bad things happen to good people, especially little children. We may never know until we get on the other side of Glory.

She was a devoted Christian and treasured her relationship with Jesus. She will live on in the lives she touched, making this world a much better place for having been here. May God bless her beautiful soul.

Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
