Martha Matthews, 83, of Sherwood, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood and was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She graduated from Little Rock Senior High and attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, TN. She was the co owner and worked for Central Manufacturing Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester A. and Grace Lee Woosley; and a sister, Corinne Pride. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William C. Matthews of Sherwood; her son, Kyle Lee Matthews of Cabot; a grandson, Devin C. Matthews of Cabot; and her sister, Christine Pride and husband J.D. of Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sherwood building fund and or piano fund, 701 Country Club Rd., Sherwood, AR 72120.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Sherwood. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
