Martha Ellen Roberts, age 83, walked on the gold streets into Jesus’s arms on Monday, August 26th in Greenbrier, Arkansas. She was born June 27, 1941 in her childhood home in Dyer, Tennessee to the late Cleatus Woods, Sr and Audrey Bessie Bradford Woods. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Preston Roberts who passed in August of 2012, by her daughter Vicki Lynn Roberts and six brothers and sisters. Martha spent her life pouring love into her family, traveling with the love of her life, fishing out of Conway Lake, and feeding her family and her church with dishes no one else could duplicate. Martha and Richard were proudly married for 53 years. Martha regularly attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed going to Bible Study with her friends. Martha knew Jesus as her savior and knew one day she would see all of her loved ones that went before her.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Roberts, of Mayflower, by her grandchildren: Charley Hopper (Derrick) of Greenbrier, Samantha Roberts, Justin Roberts, and Chad Roberts; by her great-grandchildren: Alexis, Haidley, and Ryan Hopper, by her brother Cleatus Woods, Jr., and many nieces, nephews and extended family that will miss her.
