Martha Karen "Kay" Wetherington (Medley), age 74, of Bismarck, died peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Hot Springs. She was born October 28, 1942 in Arkadelphia to James Edward and Lois "Tiny" Williams Medley. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1960. On September 21, 1961, she married Sonny. During his service in the Navy, they moved to Long Beach, California.
 
After moving back to Arkansas, Kay began working for Sears as store manager for over twenty-five years in Arkadelphia and Malvern. She was a member of Bismarck First Baptist Church. After retirement, she enjoyed painting and making crafts. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren remember her as a kind and loving mother who encouraged them generously.
 
Survivors are her husband of fifty-four years, Sonny Wetherington; one son, Chad Wetherington of Vilonia, Arkansas; two daughters, Kim Tucker and husband, William of Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas, Shannon Holland and husband, Neal (Shannon) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one brother, David Medley and wife, Kathy of Orlando, Florida; three grandchildren, Chris Tucker and wife, Ashley, Jason Tucker and Taylor Holland; three great-grandchildren, Nick Tucker, Rilie Tucker and Bland Tucker.
 
Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bismarck First Baptist Church.
 
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
