Marvelene Griffin

Marvelene Griffin, 78, of Little Rock, passed away February 4, 2023. She was born on October 12, 1944 in Gillett, AR, to Frank Sr. and Bernice Riley. Marvelene was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 1, 1970. She loved Jehovah dearly and often invited her family to attend spiritual meetings at the Kingdom Hall with her. She was also a CNA who always did all she could to help others. She genuinely cared for people. She raised eight children, and four grandchildren on her own. She was a loving Mother and “Grandma”. Her love was unconditional. She will be forever remembered as the lady with the “bright” smile and a heart of gold.
She is survived by her Children, Rhonda Griffin of Little Rock, Ar, Ulysses Griffin Jr of Addison, Tx, Naomi Griffin of Little Rock, Ar, John Griffin of Russellville, Ar, Rachel Griffin Woods (Torrian) of Little Rock, Ar; Stepchildren, Twana Nuniss of Savannah, Georgia, and Jonathan Griffin of Dallas, Texas; Grandchildren, Justin Riley (Arianna) , Jason Riley, Christopher Burnett, Jalen Morris, Kalen Johnson, Kiara Johnson, Keifer Johnson, Jamar Meredith, Azaria Griffin, Makayla Woods, Jacarious Griffin and Jaylah Griffin; Great-Grandmother to her favorite Pup Shadow Riley; Siblings, Kathleen Riley of Estero, Florida, Carolyn Collier (Brad) of Flint, Michigan, Earnestine Bronson (Alonzo) of Laurel, Maryland, and Eurl Reeves (Claudie) of Conway, Ar, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and other relatives, and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Bernice Riley, her children, Rebekiah Griffin, Rena Riley, and Patrick Griffin, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
The Griffin Family would like to Thank everyone for their prayers and support through this difficult time.
Marvelene had a strong belief that if she fell asleep in death, her God and Friend, Jehovah will awaken her in a Earthly Paradise. Her beliefs were scriptually based. These are a few of her favorite Bible Scriptures:
John 5:28, 29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
Acts 24:15 “And I have a hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteousness.”
Revelation 21:3, 4: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 14800 Hinson Road, Little Rock.
