Mary Lee Bishop

Mary Lee Bishop, age 95, of Mount Ida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

She was born in Delhi, Louisiana on November 27, 1930. Mary Lee was the daughter of Dewitt Ray and Sally A. Allen Ray. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Teewee Bishop; her son, Butch Bishop, her daughter, Pam Bishop; and several siblings.

Mary was a member of Monticello Southern Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse for many years at the Delhi Medical Clinic. Mary loved to garden, can, and cook. Most of all, Mary loved her family and being "granny" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy "Bubba" Bishop; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bishop, Mandy Bishop, JR Bishop, Tony Choron, and Jamie Choron; her great-grandchildren, Hayden Bishop, Gavin Childers, Avery Bishop, Slade Bishop, and Kaylee Childers; her great-grandson, Cohen Bishop; her two brothers, Edwin Ray and Buddy Ray; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Graveside services will be held at a later time at Herringville Cemetery in Herringville, Louisiana.
