Mary Loutishia Bridges, born October 23, 1943, went to be with her Heavenly Father and Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 4, 2017. Mary grew up in Little Rock, AR and married Thomas Woodrow Bridges, Sr. on October 13, 1962. After moving to Shreveport, LA, Mary worked for Bossier Bank & Trust Co. until their return to Little Rock in the late 80's. Then, Mary was employed by the State of Arkansas in the Public Retirement System and retired in 2007 after 19 years of service.
Mary had many accomplishments in life, but had many struggles with her health in the past several years. She was an excellent worker in all her endeavors and raised her family where both children acknowledge that she was "THE ABSOLUTE BEST". Mary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings.
Mary is survived by her husband, Thomas Woodrow Bridges, Sr. and two beloved children, son, Thomas W Bridges Jr. (Stephanie) of Atlanta, TX and daughter, Michelle Bridges Woods of Maumelle, AR. Also cherished to survive are her grandchildren, Steven Michael Bridges of Maumelle, AR, Jordan Ashley Bridges of Haughton, LA, Jennifer Paige Bridges and Amanda Elizabeth Dodson, both of Atlanta, TX. Other survivors include three sisters, Beverly Lanier (Jim) of Russellville, AR, Johnnie Neu (Bill) of Benton, AR and Marita Bivins of Little Rock, AR and her predeceased husband, Gale Bivins; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, children of her siblings.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph James, Sr., Fern Summerville James and her Step-Mother, Edna Mae Ray James. Also preceded by one brother, Ralph N James., Jr. and wife, Shirley James and one niece, Teresa Neu.
She will be dearly missed by all members of her family, especially her loving husband of 54 years, Woody and daughter, Michelle, who were her care givers for the last 2 ½ years. We wish to thank the nurses and medical personnel at UAMS and Hospice Home Care of Little Rock for taking care of her where her final days were spent. Also, we'd like to thank Jeff Nolen, PT, of Intrepid Home Health.
