Cathy (Mary Catherine) Betz Tricarico was born on March 17, 1955, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late James and Lois Pistner Betz, and passed away on May 30, 2026, in Benton, Arkansas, after a long battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Cathy leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to those she loved. She had a great sense of humor and a smile that would light up a room.
She graduated from Penn State University in McKeesport and was retired from Alcoa. After retirement, she started a residential cleaning business where she built strong relationships with her customers.
Cathy always believed in giving back and belonged to many charitable organizations over the years. She established a card ministry where she sent cards to seniors and cancer patients to offer encouragement and a smile. Reading, crafting, and gardening were some of her hobbies, and she loved the outdoors. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and loved the Lord and our country. She loved sports, especially football, and was an Arkansas Razorback and Cleveland Browns fan.
Cathy had a great attitude and was a remarkable woman whose impact on those around her will be felt for years to come. She fought her lengthy cancer battle with strength and courage to the end and never complained. May her vibrant spirit and zest for life continue to inspire us all.
Cathy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Tricarico, her son Bill (Alexandra) of San Antonio, Texas, and her grandsons William and Hudson, who were the love of her life. She also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends.
To honor and celebrate Cathy’s life, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton. A special remembrance honoring her cherished life, enduring legacy, and the love she shared with so many will begin at 6:30 p.m.
