Mary Copeland

Mary Frances Copeland age 92, of Arkadelphia, died Monday, August 30, 2021. She was born in the Manchester Community, east of Arkadelphia to Harry and Gladys McCaskill Fite on January 11, 1929. She joined the Manchester Methodist Church as a teenager.

She married James T. Copeland in Arkadelphia on February 6, 1949 and they immediately joined Arkadelphia First United Methodist Church and remained active members all their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her one sister, Martha Lynda Wilbers and one brother, Charlie Fite.

Survivors are her children, Tom and wife, Mary Carol Copeland of Sherwood, Jim and wife, Susan Copeland of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Margaret “Maggie” Ashcraft of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one brother, Harry and wife, Eloise Fite Jr. of Pine Bluff.

Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 3 ^rd at First United Methodist Church. As per her request, there will be no visitation and private interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or charity of your choice.
