Mary Elizabeth Downey, age 89, of Bearden, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home. She was born June 4, 1928 to the late Melvin and Doris Lucas Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William E. Downey; a son, David Slaughter; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are her daughter, Paulette Wilges and husband, Danny of Bearden; a sister, Janet Fiedler and husband, Dick; three brothers, Melvin Parsons, Robert Parsons and Mike Parsons and wife, Judy all of Ohio; four grandchildren, Mary Jacobs and husband, Ed of Arkansas, David Grieshaber and wife, Sayuri of California, Paula Miner and husband, Robert of Arkansas and John Lance and wife, Crystal of Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony Fisher and wife, Tarra, Adria Ditto, Kendra Butler and husband, John, Robert Miner Jr., William Miner, Ryley Lance, Karter Lance and Corbyn Lance; eight great-great grandchildren, Hayley Fisher, Ty Youngpeter, Lola Fisher, Jayla Butler, Nevaeh Fisher, Ayden Fisher, Ja'dyn Butler and Blakeleigh Miner.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 9th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. David Dillard officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 noon Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
