Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Brewer Dees, age 55, of Newhope, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017. She was born on March 21, 1962, in Waldron, the daughter of Lonnie Calton Brewer and Mary Helen Stovall Brewer. On June 21, 1980, she was married to Raymond Dees. She was preceded in death by her father; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Vivian Dees. She was a member of the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church and was employed with Husqvarna in Nashville for over 15 years. She was an avid reader, had a deep passion for guns and was as solid and true as anyone could ever be. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandson and granddaughter, whom she adored. Liz was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Dees of Newhope; her daughter, Ashley Dees Buck, and her husband, Daniel, of Amity; her two pride and joy grandchildren, Isaac Clement and Delany Buck; her mother, Mary Brewer of Waldron; her brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Tina Brewer of Waldron; her nephew, Tyler Brewer and his wife, Callee, of Waldron; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Susan Dees and their family, Jack and Adela Dees and their family and Frank Dees and his family; her loving dogs and cat, Rocky and Little Girl, and Roscoe; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2017, in the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Dees and Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Simmons, Dallas Simmons, Kenneth Young, Tim Simmons, Stanley Brewer, Tyler Brewer, Sam White, Paul Ward, Daniel Buck, Dusty Lovett, Tony Davis, Wilson Kesterson, Curtis ONeal, Joe Hill and Lucas Simmons.
