Mary Ellen McElhaney

Mary Ellen McElhaney, born on April 6th, 1935, in Paris, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on November 12th, 2024, at the age of 89. A talented seamstress for many years, Mary Ellen was known for her kind and welcoming demeanor.

She was employed by Kansas State University until retirement and spent countless hours as a seamstress, sewing and creating beautiful garments and memories.

Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Sam McElhaney, and daughters Debbie Reynolds and Becky Troyer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Gene McElhaney, and her daughter, Mary Elizabeth. A private family service will be scheduled at a later date.
