Mary Louise Hendrix (Bettis), age 80, went to celebrate her 80th birthday with the Lord on January 10, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas. Born on January 10, 1946, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Mary’s life was marked by deep devotion to her family, enduring faith, and a loving spirit that touched all who knew her.
Mary was the beloved wife of Albert Lamar Hendrix and a devoted mother to their daughter, Teresa Hendrix. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandson, Maverick Wilkerson, whom she affectionately called her “little angel”—even during his more mischievous moments. Her bond with him was one of the great joys of her life.
She was the cherished sister of James Bettis and the daughter of Jesse R. Bettis and Nolon Bettis, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mary had a passion for shopping and traveling—activities that brought her happiness and allowed her to create lasting memories with those she loved. Whether exploring new places or browsing through favorite stores, she embraced each moment with enthusiasm and warmth.
Throughout her life, Mary found joy and fulfillment in her work and the connections she made along the way. She cherished the friendships she formed during her time at Handelman Books and Records and later at Metropolitan National Bank. These professional chapters were not only part of her career but also meaningful sources of companionship and community.
Mary was known for the deep bonds she formed with those around her. Her friends and neighbors held a special place in her heart and were considered family by her.
Through every season of life—both joyful and challenging—Mary held steadfast to her faith in the Lord.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
