Mary Martin
Mary Lou Alexander Martin passed from this life on June 20, 2011. She was born to Clyde Alexander and Charity Mason Alexander on April 6, 1934. She graduated from Carden Bottom High School where she played basketball, thus beginning a life-long love of sports. She was especially an avid Razorback fan. Married to Frank E. Martin for fifty-seven years, she earned her "PHT" (Putting Hubby Through) at the University of Arkansas main library while Frank attended engineering school. She was a member of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church for over thirty years.
She is survived by her husband, Frank E. Martin of Little Rock; son, Jeffrey E. Martin and wife, Tara Suber-Martin of North Little Rock; daughter, Linda Beth Martin of Little Rock; and a brother, Clay Alexander of Oklahoma. She is also survived by two grandchildren whom she adored, Serena Martin and Tristan Martin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Merkel.
Services will be held Friday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). The family will greet guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Rice Depot, 3801 W. 65th Street, Little Rock, AR 72209.
