Mary "Marcia" Montgomery

Mary Marcia Montgomery, 85, of North Little Rock passed away April 11,2024.  Marcia was born to the late Tracy Bishop Montgomery and Harriette  (Matheson) Montgomery on March 14, 1939 in Tampa, Florida.  

She is preceded in death by a sister, Harriette Montgomery, and the father of her children, James Earnest Jones, Sr.  Survivors include three children:  Marcia Jane Jones Shepherd (David), Elizabeth Ozzie Jones Allison (Gordon), James Jones, Jr. (Alison Isgrig-Jones); grandchildren: Madeline Elizabeth Shepherd, Tracy Teamon Williams, James “Seamus” Allison, Aubrey Elizabeth Jones; and a sister, Tracia Montgomery Clossey.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Interment with military honors will follow at 12:00 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.  

Memorials may be made to Sherwood Animal Shelter.

Marcia was a beautiful and tenaciously devoted mother.  She was proud of her children and grandchildren and she was proud to serve in the United States Military.  While serving in the military, she earned the position of pitcher on the men’s fast pitch soft ball team and was the  only woman who presented with  the skills to play in the men’s league.  As a young mother, Marcia earned a degree in criminal justice and worked as a security guard at the Little Rock airport.  Next, Marcia became an LPN and worked while going to school to become a registered nurse.  She worked in the UAMS ER for 11 years while also serving as a helicopter flight nurse when needed.  She enjoyed learning and continued her education by becoming a registered dental hygienist.  Marcia loved her family, her country, the outdoors, and animals.  Beloved mother and ever loved.
