Mary O'Brien

Mary Murrell O'Brien was born January 14, 1988 on a snowy day in Little Rock, Arkansas. She lost her beloved mother, Margie, when she was only 13 years old. Mary and Margie are rejoicing together, reunited in heaven on May 13, 2017.

Mary gave her family and friends so much joy during her time with us. She was energetic, caring, spunky and creative. Her determination was exemplified by the shelf she sawed, hammered, and glued till it spelled Love.

Her infectious smile lit up every room. A friend aptly described her as a "light". Mary loved animals, birthdays, cooking and engulfing protein with her Dad at Outback. She was a fighter in her appetite for life. Multiple recent health issues including an apparent blood clot could not dim her sparkle.

Mary attended Christ the King Elementary School, the Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and Troy University. She is survived by her father, Joe O'Brien of Little Rock; her sister, Evie O'Brien Pearson (Carl) of Sherwood; her brother, D.J. O'Brien (Meg) of Greensboro, NC; two nieces, a nephew and many cousins, Aunts and Uncles whom she loved dearly. She adored her constant companion and beloved Chihuahua mix, Kennedi.

A Vigil - Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30 pm and a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 18 at 10 a.m., both at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. Memorials are welcomed to the Monsignor Hebert Building Endowment Fund or Christ the King School.
